About Me

Hello, and thanks for taking the time to learn about me and how we might work together.

  • I didn't set out to do this work- it found me, about 25 years ago.

    After a couple of decades struggling with anxiety, burnout, failed relationships and a raft of habits that didn’t serve me, I began a personal journey of change. This major shift inspired an ongoing exploration of the mind, emotions and behaviour;  with influences from neuroscience, attachment theory and Buddhist wisdom, it has formed the foundation of my work and my life.

    I am a certified counsellor and psychotherapist (Cairnmillar Institute, 1997) and an active member of AABCAP—the Australian Association of Buddhist Counsellors and Psychotherapists.

  • My ongoing professional development reflects a deep commitment to integrative, evidence-based practice. I’ve trained extensively in Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT) with Dr Russ Harris, and completed multiple specialist programs in neuroscience, trauma, attachment, and couples work with Susan Johnson, The Gottman Method and Esther Perel.

    My work is also shaped by ongoing contemplative study and practice, including two six-month dharma and meditation mentorships with Jess Huon and training in Compassionate Inquiry with Gabor Maté.

    And, it's important to note that I walk the talk everyday.

  • What I Do

  • I work with individuals and couples who want to feel more in control, more satisfied and more connected to themselves and to others.

    People as young as 16 and as senior as 80 come to me because they are stuck in negative habits or patterns they don’t fully understand: they might be experiencing anxiety, communication breakdown, emotional reactivity, procrastination, people-pleasing, avoidance, depression, burnout or just a lingering sense of dissatisfaction and disillusionment.

  • Together, we explore what’s going on beneath the surface; unpacking thoughts, feelings, behaviours, beliefs, impulses and relationship dynamics with curiosity and compassion. I teach the skills of self-awareness, mind management, emotion regulation and encourage healthier ways of living and relating so you can move forward with clarity, stability, satisfaction and ease in your inner world and in your relationships.

  • My work is underpinned by the pulsing truth that we have just one self and one life, and how we tend to these two precious things determines how we experience our time here.


    At its heart, our work is about strengthening the relationship you have with your Self, because that’s what transforms how you relate to everything and everyone, everyday of your one unique life.

  • I don’t offer quick fixes (they're not a thing so stop searching) but I do provide compassionate and motivating guidance and coaching to move you along the path of lasting change.

    I would describe my style as relaxed and conversational. I don't have a 'therapist persona', what you get is the genuine me - I keep it very real and care deeply about every person I work with.
